Waterford Crystal has been part of A Sheer Delight for many years. This month we were pleased to welcome Fred Curtis all the way from Waterford, Ireland. Transforming the shop into a full Waterford Display is no mean feat. We strip the core of the shop in one day, display the next and by the third day we are back to normal. It is a lot of work but always very rewarding.

To see our clients reaction when arriving for the event makes it all worthwhile - I believe this is definitely part of the WOW factor.

Fred Curtis was an absolute delight. This Master Sculptor and Designer shared his knowledge and skill with ease, making for a very enjoyable time. Starting out with a summer job at the Waterford factor when he was 15 years old, Fred quickly qualified with distinction and achieved the status of Master Cutter in ten years. By 1986, his experimentation on discarded pieces of crystal was noticed and in 1986 he established a new sculpting department at Waterford Crystal.

Over the years, Fred Curtis has sculpted pieces for some of the world's most famous people including Barack Obama, Bill Clinton and Clint Eastwood.

Clients who purchased items had them signed and dated, via the diamond drill. We haven't seen cutting in store for years and this was an incredible highlight of the evening.

To see a piece of crystal come to life via a talented pair of hands is seriously impressive to watch and we were so lucky to witness Fred's experience and talent.
